THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE
Before you really even need to talk to Lucifer, you get a sense of her darkness, and her power, purely though the sheer magnitude of attitude she exudes. That and she's a little crazy.
FATHER God asshole
SIBLINGS All the Angels OFFSPRING All Demons
70% FLEXIBLE MIND
ENTP 'The Debater'; the ultimate devil’s advocate, thriving on the process of shredding arguments and beliefs and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see. Unlike their more determined Judging (J) counterparts, ENTPs don’t do this because they are trying to achieve some deeper purpose or strategic goal, but for the simple reason that it’s fun. No one loves the process of mental sparring more than ENTPs, as it gives them a chance to exercise their effortlessly quick wit, broad accumulated knowledge base, and capacity for connecting disparate ideas to prove their points.
Truthful to a Fault
❖ FALLEN ANGEL
has all the powers and benefits her brothers have, including the ability to tap into 'Angel Radio' when it suits.
❖ LIGHT BRINGER
before Falling, Lucifer could summon light and fire, it's a little more complicated now. There's still a spark of it there, but it's meagre compared to how it used to me.
can travel anywhere upon desire.
can wield and call forth Hellfire, which she uses in replacement to her own fire.
❖ DEMON BLOOD
like the 'Angel Radio', Lucifer can communicate with the offspring of Hell through their demon blood.
❖ FALLEN ARCHANGEL
while Lucifer was one of the first Archangels, formerly the most beloved, she doesn't have all the powers she once held; she's still superhumanly strong and fast, but she isn't as strong or fast as she could be. In her true vessel she would be the most powerful she could be since her Fall.
❖ ANGEL WINGS
still has them, rarely if ever uses them or shows them.
into the past
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Blah, blah, blah.
It's not quite the story people think it is, the all-powerful, all-seeing Lord, creating the world and forming the Universe. The earth was just a formless, dark, cold, empty land. Until God said, “Let there be light,” and just like that, Lucifer was created, the most beloved by God. Which really, is comical when you get to the nitty-gritty bits. Lucifer was a show off- never really with any malice, just being a showy twat most of the time, as most kids do.
It worked out for a while; showing off, living in Heaven, embracing family. Then.... Then the humans happened. They were little more than animals, really, moderately more cognitive, but little else. But not to the Lord, they were special, the weird little things. But God loved them, and God commanded they all to bow to man, as if they were equals, worse, as if they were superior.
Lucifer didn't take it well. Which is a cosmic understatement, really. It was the equivalent of an epic temper tantrum, shouting, yelling 'they're just a silly little mortals, flawed and stupid', that sort of thing. God wasn't moved by it, sticking to his orders, defend his precious creations.
Lucifer stormed out, gathered an army behind him and assaulted Heaven. Not his finest move, but cooler heads did not prevail. It didn't really go too well. Big brother Michael didn't share Lucifer's feelings and... Well, that's something that will take centuries of family therapy to work out really. Lucifer was cast out of Heaven, into the very depths of Hell and because they were being dicks, he was sealed in to stop him trying again -or having a spat with the humans. Only, that didn't really work out, because he was still able to influence the humans.
It didn't take much, a few words, some suggestions. They were little idiots, they weren't divine, they didn't love God, not like the Angels did. They took the bait and proved him right. Not that it worked the way Lucifer believed it would, God didn't release him from Hell, didn't bring him home, didn't take back what happened. And Lucifer festered in his anger and torment.
It led to productivity at least, turning Hell into his own kingdom, populating it with demons, creatures not human and not angel, something corrupted and twisted in his anger. They could do his bidding, move through the world where Lucifer couldn't. It was boring, dull. Watching humanity implode slowly like he knew they would, entering their souls as they proved him right over, and over, and over again.
Thousands of years worth of watching these beings corrupt themselves and damn themselves was tedious viewing.
And then, suddenly he was free. And not only free, kicked out of his own little world, which was rude, yes, but it wasn't unwelcome either. Cults and groups and all those tortured little idiots were finally useful, begging at the chance to serve him, offering themselves for him. A willing vessel gave him free movement throughout the world, looking for ways to further prove to the world that humans were beneath them, less than the Angels, not important enough to bow to.
Months of exploration and indulgence found Lucifer in Seattle, where he eventually found his true vessel in the shape of a disaster of a human attached to the Men of Letters. Insurmountable time in Hell had taught Lucifer patience, and a silver tongue helped to take steps to secure his true vessel and see that his time on Earth wouldn't be limited by humans and their fragility.
It would've been easier without Michael putting his oar in, but big brothers do what big brothers must to irritate little brothers. After brief issues with his vessel, Michael and Asmodeus had a pissing contest and destroyed each other's vessels, Lucifer suffered a few set backs with his own vessel before using some power to reform the being as he wished after some use around other vessels to harness power.
Following Halloween, after extending an invitation to Samhain to have a little fun with the idiot mortals and some of his siblings, Lucifer finally lost control of the power holding his vessel together, obliterating the body in truly impressive fashion. It resulted in Lucifer needing to use those cults again, acquiring another willing vessel, preferably one that wasn't going to self-destruct like the useless little human before that did.
What he found was interesting.
In a little town in Louisiana, in a forgotten hospital corner, lay a woman with crippling pain, her body rebelling against her and killing her slowly and painfully. One of the nurses was a member of a small group who devoted themselves to Lucifer, preaching where they could. The woman was perfect. The offer of a life, some semblance of a life, if she gave herself over was tempting for the formerly vivacious and outgoing woman, her lack of faith in a deity that apparently handed numerous heart-crushing tragedies one after the other tipped the scales and Lucifer was granted his next vessel.
The icing on the cake was that this vessel, she was the former girlfriend of his true vessel. Which just made returning to Seattle all the more invigorating.
Returning to Seattle with Shawn as a vessel, after working her through recovery and obtaining a transfer from her work, Lucifer set about surprising Zach. Pretending to be his ex for a while, Lucifer's big reveal was at a charity event that turned violent, exposing the new host to Zach and enjoying the reaction.
While Zach agonised over Shawn's fate, Lucifer enjoyed the freedom of a Seattle without Michael around, the chance to spend time with siblings, reconnecting with Metatron and Gabriel.
Between Zachary dying in battle against a vampire in a test set up by the Horseman War, and Lucifer unable to simply kill Gabriel to escape her own test, due largely to old sentimentality. Seattle continued with the sucker punches, but Lucifer was able to continually move closer to bonding with her sibling once more.
With Zach in hiding once again, Lucifer is torn between locating him, because he's a disaster, or remaining in Seattle with her siblings to work on the long game. Lilith's return to Seattle, coupled with the congregating of Judas' ilk, Lucifer decided to wait before hunting down her true vessel again.
with Zachary Walker
Lucifer wants her true vessel, there's little that can be done to her when she gets it, and it's the beginning of the end when she does get it. But she needs permission, and Zach is holding out.
with Gabriel, Azrael, Uriel & Metatron
Despite really wanting to end humanity, and having a very different desires from her siblings, Lucifer is still hoping for at least a tiny chance of reconcillation with the angels. She's prepared to put in the work at least.
Shawn Holden, 31, Louisiana native raised by good Catholic parents with her four siblings. Her name means 'God is gracious'.
When she was nine, her little brother who was only seven, was killed in a house fire started when he was playing with their mother's prayer candles in front of their bust of the Virgin Mary.
Shawn went to Arkansas State in a bid to get away from her parents and their strict rules, not to overly step out of the teachings of her faith, but simply to relax in how forceful they were.
Meeting Zach in her first year of study stopped her parents from being overly stifling even from another state; they liked him, thought he had a good head on his shoulders and was a proper gentleman for their daughter. They were hoping for an engagement announcement.
Following the exceptionally difficult time of Zach possession -which Shawn was peripherally aware of through Nova- Shawn took the resulting break-up very hard. She almost flunked out of college, only just pulling it together at the end to get her journalism degree.
At 26 she was diagnosed with a rare genetic illness, something so rare it had no known cure and limited treatment. Shawn's immune system started attacking itself, breaking down her organs and muscle mass, breaking down her bone density, leaving Shawn in debilitating pain and constantly at risk of organ failure, cardiac arrest and breaks. By the time she was 30, Shawn was hospitalised, in constant pain and required dialysis everyday and machines to keep her lungs working.
While Shawn was in treatment, over the span of six months, each member of her family were killed or died. Her mother and youngest brother died in a car accident, two weeks later her father had a heart attack, three months after that her sister was killed in a street shooting and two months later her remaining brother died on patrol with the police force.
As a result of her family's untimely deaths, Shawn's primary care was overseen by a lesser involved aunt on her mother's side. Shawn hadn't really had much interaction with her aunt, which she was told was because of her aunt's 'non-traditional beliefs', which Shawn took to mean she wasn't a Catholic or was gay. In fact it was because she belonged to a rather outspoken sect of Satanism, which she slowly started to expose Shawn to throughout her treatment and care.
RELEASE FROM PAIN
Since granting Lucifer permission to use her body, ultimately giving over her life, Shawn has felt no pain, no fear and no worry over what was to come. In a sense, giving permission for her body to become Lucifer's vessel, Shawn has been freed from the anguish of a slow, painful and unavoidable death. She's very at peace with how things have played out.
Using Shawn's last connections and work, Lucifer has acquired a small studio apartment, day job and cover story to blend into Seattle. With the Shawn connection, Lucifer plans to at least have some fun with her true vessel. She recently moved out of the studio apartment following the curious deaths of her fellow residents in an untimely manner and acquired an opulent penthouse to live in. She feels it suits better.
